We have been following the planning works by St Andrews and St Marks Churches over the last few years and the lastest is now ready for hire!  But it wasn’t just about new facilities, this refurbishment of St Mark’s Church is amazing.

The Churches put in planning applications for affordable flats, market rate flats, new church facilities at both churches and a new vicarage several years ago.  The St Andrews new facility has been open a while and the affordable units on Balaclava Road are now occupied.  The market-rate flats on Church Hill Road are well underway. 

Most people will remember the ‘tin hut’ that passed for St Mark’s Church Hall for half a century.  But the new hall at St Marks is something else.

The main hall is large, light and airy, with tables and chairs supplied and oak veneered timber floor.  The kitchen has 2 ovens, 2 microwaves, dishwasher and comes with full crockery and cutlery.  A separate area for serving snacks if you don’t want the full kitchen.  3 separate meeting rooms are also available.  All with the convenience of Surbiton Town Centre and station just down the road.  It looks to be a great space to hire out and we’ll definately be using it in the future.
