Traffic updates
Each week we will advise residents of roadworks in Surbiton. This list is those that we are informed of each week, emergency work may still happen without advance warning.
11-5-12 Portsmouth Road, outside 78: On the morning of 13th May Thames Water will be working on a valve in the carriageway using temporary traffic signals.
11-5-12 Maple Road, outside 100: Thames Water will be undertaking a sewer connection using traffic signals from 21st May for 10 days.

16-3-12 Maple Road: remedial carriageway works at the junction of Brighton Road and Balaclava Road. Full road closure outside working hours (20.00-06.00) for two nights between 22nd and 23rd March 2012.

2-3-12 Church Hill Road: Church Hill Road will be closed between St Mark’s Hill and Adelaide Road from 5 to 9 March 2012 for Thames Water to connect St Mark’s Church to the main sewer.
14-11-11 Surbiton Hill Road: Southern Gas Networks need to complete a new connection to a new development and will work outside N˚4 until 16-11-11. The road will be closed and a signed diversion put in place.
7-11-11 Brighton Road: Networks Rail’s contractors need to do some investigative works near the railway bridge in preparation for its replacement during Easter week-end 2012. 3-way temporary traffic lights will be in operation until 12-11-11.
26-10-11 Maple Road (numbers 47 to 135) will use “stop and go” boards for carriageway repairs for one day between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
16-9-11 Surbiton Hill Road will be one way (from Kingston) and on diversion (towards Kingston), turning left onto St Marks Hill, right at the roundabout and along Claremont Road and back into Maple Road. This to enable utilities to connect new services into development at N˚4 Surbiton Hill Road, from 26/09/11 to 30/09/11. Thames Water, Southern Gas Networks and UK Power Networks are working in collaboration to minimize disruption.
4-8-11 Langley Road closed between Oakhill Crescent and Oakenshaw Close for junction improvement works lasting for 10 days. However it will only be necessary to close the road for 3 days whilst works are taking place at the actual junction.
17-7-11 Church Hill Road will be closed between St Marks Hill and Adelaide Road from 21-07-11 to 03-08-11to enable Shanly Home LTD to built two inspection chambers and connect new services. Works have been extended after discovery of technical problems on site. New expected completion date is 12-08-11, now extended again until 22-8-11.
11-7-11 The footpath on Grove Road between Maple Road and The Crescent will be reconstructed starting week comencing 11th July for 1 week.
24-6-11 The hole that appeared in Victoria Road/Brighton Road has now been filled with a re-inforcing slab to prevent further voids appearing under the surface.
16-6-11 Investigation works continue on the Victoria Road/Brighton Road hole. It has become necessary to close the road with diversions, but it is believed that the reason for the hole is a colapsed sewer or high pressure water mains.
10-6-11 The Royal Borough of Kingston’s engineers are carrying out investigative works on Victoria Road on a void under the carriageway discovered this morning. The area of the void has been coned-off for health and safety reasons but traffic can proceed in all directions. A hole formed in the surface of Victoria Road, Surbiton at the junction with Brighton Road, uncovering the void in the structure of the carriageway.
6-6-11 Emergency works are taking place on Anglesea Road, Kingston to repair a collapsed sewer and consequential collapsed carriageway by Thames Water.
4-6-11 We are advised that temporary traffic signals will be in operaton for gas mains repair ouside 133 Brighton Road from 6th to 12th June.
