Anyone who uses the footpath from St Philips car park to Victoria Road – known as the Boots passageway – will be all too familiar with general muck that accumulates there. All the land is privately owned by the various shops, however Liz asked Kingston Council to clean it.
It isn’t our land, but is used by many residents. It can be the first thing that visitors see when coming to Surbiton. We want people to shop in Surbiton so we want to make the entrances more welcoming and this cleaning up of the general ground in muck is a first step.
says Liz
The small cost of the cleaning was approved by Lib Dem controlled Surbiton neighbourhood committee from underspends in other budget areas and was undertaken by the Council’s cleansing contractor, Veoila
