Consultation on school admissions 2016

by admin on 12 January, 2015

Kingston Council are consulting on the proposed admission arrangements for 2016 to 2017 for:

  • community schools
  • in-year admissions
  • coordinated primary and secondary admissions schemes

The proposed changes to the existing arrangements for community schools are:

  • Sibling priority will only be given where an applicant has a sibling attending Reception to Year 6 at the same or linked infant and junior schools at the time of admission. It is proposed to remove the sibling priority for children who apply for a primary school place and have a sibling attending the school’s nursery class at the time of admission.
  • Subject to the approval of statutory proposals for Alexandra Infant and St Paul’s Junior Schools to become all through primary schools from September 2016, Alexandra Infant School will require a change in its admissions criteria and a reduction in its admission number from 90 to 60 for Reception entry, and the introduction of admissions criteria for 60 Year 3 places from September 2016.
  • The only significant change to the coordinated primary and secondary schemes from 2015 to 2016 is to the dates in the Pan London timetable.

Full details are on Kingston Council’s website and the closing date is 23rd January 2015.
