Very sadly, Edward Davey lost the Kingston and Surbiton constituency parliamentary election on 7th May 2015.

Many people have expressed surprise and sorrow over the loss of the superb local MP, Edward Davey. I believe the result is a consequence of national campaigns and not a reflection of Edward’s hard work for Kingston residents. People said to me they were scared of a Labour/SNP coalition, so voted Conservative locally. However, this may prove misguided as the Conservatives are now free to implement many of their policies blocked by the Liberal Democrats, like repealing the Human Rights Act, fire at will by employers and climate change mitigation measures.

says Cllr Liz Green, Leader of the Liberal Democrat Council group.

On the same night, Liberal Democrats won the 2 Kingston Council by-elections in Grove and Tolworth & Hook Rise wards.

I’m delighted that Rebekah Moll (Grove) and Tom Davies (THR) have been elected to Kingston Council. It shows that locally many residents still support Lib Dems.

added Cllr Diane White, St Mark’s Ward Councillor.
