Following the very sad death of Chrissie Hitchcock last month, Kingston Liberal Democrats are pleased that local resident and business man, Jon Tolley, will be their candidate in the forthcoming election.
Jon runs Banquet Records, a popular and successful independent record shop in Eden Street, which he lives above. He is also on the board of KingstonFirst, representing the independent sector in Kingston Town Centre and regularly runs gigs in Kingston at numerous venues like the Hippodrome, Rose Theatre, Fighting Cocks and All Saints Church. He’s passionate about Kingston, wanting to protect it from overdevelopment, ensure the survival of all the arts and culture that make living here exciting and serve the residents of Grove in every aspect.
His you tube video explains why he wants to be a Liberal Democrat Councillor.
I’d only known Chrissie for a very short while, but it was clear she was going to be difficult to replace. With Grove ward bordering St Mark’s Ward, I want someone who is going to be able to speak up for all the residents in the area, so I’m delighted that Jon Tolley has been selected as the Liberal Democrat candidate. He would be a worthy successor to Chrissie.
