Moving urgent care GP service to Surbiton Health Centre

by lizgreen on 18 September, 2015

Kingston Clinical Commissioning Group (Kingston GPs) are undertaking a public consultation on moving the urgent care GP service from Gosbury Hill in Hook to Surbiton Health Centre.  Other changes proposed are that it becomes a walk-in, as opposed to appointment only, service but would only run 8am to 8pm Saturday to Monday.

We welcome the move to a more central, accessible location for urgent care GP led services.  It’s also very positive that it would be a walk-in service rather than appointment only.  However, the cut in days from 7 days a week to 3 is not welcome, nor is the lack of a minor injuries unit for the site.  If residents are not sure when the service is open or what it is for, then it won’t be used fully and take the pressure of Kingston Hospital A&E.

Please have a look at what is proposed and respond to the consultation with your views.  It is important that as many residents as possible give their views so that the CCG can make an informed decision later in the year.
