Old Malden Councillor Mary Clark has resigned from the Conservative Group at Kingston Council it was announced Monday 12 October, but she will remain on the Council, sitting as an independent Member.

It was a shock when Councillor Mary Clark was ousted by her colleagues as co-chair of Maldens and Coombe Neighbourhood committee last week. We shall need to wait and see if these issues are related or if there is more than meets the eye.

We’ve not always seen eye-to-eye on political issues, but she has always worked hard for her residents of Old Malden ward.  She’s been a member of the Conservatives locally for over 50 years and whatever is happening to make her resign from their group is deeply worrying.
