A planning application has been submitted to Kingston Council by Tesco for a development of the former government offices at Hook Rise South. The application includes:

• a hotel
• a retail Tesco store
• a restaurant and cafe
• 231 parking spaces
• Gym
• bus layover and driver facilities
• A3 pedestrian link access
• erection of 269 residential units with 202 car parking spaces

Tesco have submited previous applications for this site and this one differs very little to previous ones.  There have been concerns about the impact on traffic at Tolworth Roundabout, the shops on the Broadway and Surbiton Town Centre and the style of the accomodation that is part of the application.  We will look in detail at this application and the implication for our residents and businesses, but we’d welcome your views.
