The last two days have been a great opportunity to feel involved with the Olympics, watching the mens and women’s road cycle races coming through the town centre then catching the end on the enormous screen in the Rose Theatre.  We stood opposite the tumbling red phone boxes and caught them coming the wrong way round the one system.  Quite a contrast between the days – lovely sunshine for the men’s on Saturday then the heavens opening just before the woman’s came past on Sunday!  But what an exciting finish and a silver medal for Team GB. 

One more cycling event to look forward to – the cycle time trials on Wednesday along the length of Portsmouth Road.  Hoping for drier conditions than today, but no less exciting.
