This weekend Yogan tried out the new Zebra Crossing on Maple Road, by St James Road in Surbiton.
The raised crossing has been added to help slow traffic and provide better crossing routes between the River Roads and Maple Road shops and the town centre. This is particularly important for Maple Infant school and St Andrew’s and St Mark’s Junior school pupils.
Leave a commentIt is in a 20mph road outside 2 schools, but frequently vehicles are going at mid to late 20’s. This raised crossing will help, as well as providing a safe crossing point. We worked with the farmers market to make sure that this addition does not prevent problems with this popular monthly event. This junction can be dangerous as cars and taxi use St James Road and Westfield Road, so a crossing is definately needed.
