Last month saw the announcement that the long-term future of the iconic stadium on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park has been secured with a deal with West Ham United Football Club that confirms the Premier League club as the Stadium’s long-term anchor tenant.
West Ham United’s 99 year concession commences in 2016 and secures a year round programme of sports and events in the venue.
Works now commence on the Stadium to transform it into a UEFA Category 4 venue with 54,000 seats. Transformation works will include a new roof, corporate areas, toilets, concessions and retractable seating.
Part of the Olympic Park will reopen on 27 July 2013. If you can’t wait until then you can take a tour of the Olympic Park site to see how the park is being transformed into the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The visit includes a bus trip in to the park and a journey up the UK’s tallest sculpture the ArcelorMittal Orbit. To book tickets visit no ordinary park
