Employers get help to get staff cycling

Local employers are being offered help to promote cycling to work in a bid to boost the wellbeing of staff and to reduce traffic and pollution.

As one of London’s Biking Boroughs, Kingston has been allocated additional funding to improve and promote cycling.

The council’s team of qualified instructors can train and give confidence to all types of cyclist from novice to regular rider, with advice on where to buy a bike, route planning and much more.

Cycling to work is good for business and good for the environment. Employers can reap huge benefits from encouraging more of their staff to take up cycling to work. It boosts staff wellbeing, it’s healthier and helps to reduce absence through sickness, and it reduces pressure on parking spaces.

I undertook the adult cycle training a few years ago and found the expert advice great.  We are looking at where we can increase the cycle network with cycle lanes to improve safety, shared spaces and increased driver awareness.
