Express CIC is the brainchild of 2 Surbiton mothers.

Express is a ‘not for profit’ community organisation based in Kingston with a vision to provide a community cafe/hub in the heart of the community with an autism friendly environment to include quiet areas and sensory areas with all facilities being fully accessible and provide opportunities for children and young people with autism.  They identified the old Fairmead nursery site in Tolworth and worked with local Councillors to bring forward a petition of over 1,000 signatures asking for a community asset transfer of the land.

They presented the petition to Kingston Council and I’m pleased to say that my recommendation to support them was accepted cross party.  They now will progress with obtaining grants and fundraising to present their final business case later in the year.
