Surbiton loses out on additional road & pavements repairs

by admin on 29 September, 2014

Kingston Council’s Infrastructure, Projects and Contracts committee has agreed the roads and pavements that will be repaired from the £1m taken from reserves.  The Conservative administration decided to spend this money but Surbiton neighbourhood will recieve the least of all 4 neighbourhoods in Kingston Borough.

Area Committee

  total

 spend

Maldens & Coombe

  £395k

Kingston Town

  £235k

South of the Borough

  £215

Surbtion

  £155

Yogan YoganathanNot only is Surbiton the Neighbourhood receiving the least the amount of this extra money, but within St Mark’s Ward only North Road pavements will see anything at all!  Even that is only described as “various sections” not the whole pavement.  As this was a promised across Kingston Borough by the current Conservatives, you have to ask why the massive variations?  It couldn’t be that the Conservatives have more Councillors in Maldens & Coombe and Kingston Neighbourhoods could it?
