Kingston Old Post office planning application

The expected planning application for the Old Post Office in Kingston town centre has now been received by Kingston Council.

The application is for:

Demolition of non-listed buildings. Erection of new buildings of 4 to 21 storeys in height and part demolition, alterations and change of use of Former Post Office and Former Telephone Exchange listed buildings to provide 2509sqm of retail/ cafe/ restaurant uses (A1-A5 use), 1157 sqm of offices (B1) and 253sqm of community/leisure (D1/D2 use) and 380 flats.

The developer, St Georges, is holding a third three day public exhibition to show details of the planning application. The exhibition will take place in The Old Post Office building on:

– Thursday 15th January 2015, 12noon – 8pm
– Friday 16th January 2015, 10am – 6pm
– Saturday 17th January 2015, 10am – 4pm

Consultation on the planning application closes on 23rdJanuary 2015. You can have your say by visiting the Council’s website and searching for the following planning application reference numbers: 14/13247 (main application),14/13248 (Listed building application for Old Post Office building) and 14/13250 (Listed building application for the Telephone Exchange building)
