Kingston Council has announced plans for the first of the mini-hollands projects. Mini-holland is the name given to the improvements to the cycle infrastructure using £32m given by Mayor for London, Boris Johnson, to transform our cycling network and encourage more people to use bikes instead of cars.
This first scheme incorporates the whole of Portsmouth Road and is now out for public consultation until 18th February 2015. Please see Kingston Council’s website for plans and how to comment.
There will also be 2 public meetings where officers will be available to answer your questions:
Leave a commentI’ve found the current plans disappointing as there is very little segregated cycle lanes compared to the original plans. However, I would like residents/cyclists/motorists/pedestrians – however you use this road – to use this opportunity to respond to the formal consultation. It is only with everyone’s comments that this will be the best scheme.
