All in one survey results

by lizgreen on 16 February, 2015

The results of the Borough wide survey which was undertaken by Kingston Council late last year have been released.

9,277 usable responses to the survey were received, which is approximately 7% of the adult population of the Royal Borough, and the full report includes a breakdown by ward.

Overall satisfaction with the local area was 84% (the same as the previous survey in 2013), whilst satisfaction with the way the Council run things was 55% (down from 59% in 2013) and 30% of respondents thought the council provided value for money compared to 40% less than 2 years ago.

A series of exhibitions and feedback sessions are planned as part of the reporting back.  Full details of all the sessions are available online.  The feedback session for St Mark’s ward will be on Saturday 21st March 10-11.30am at the YMCA on Victoria Road when the ward councillors will be present along with the Leader of the Council.

This was the most expensive survey the Council has run, costing around £100,000. Whilst it is very important to understand what residents think of the services the Council provides, at over £10 per response, I question the value for money at times when budgets are being cut.
