This is the mock-up by the developers of the proposed Eden Walk redevelopment. The plans, which were shared at a series of public meetings last month, include new retail space, leisure facilities, opening up walkways through memorial gardens, new eating places, offices and around 400 new homes.
Of course, what it doesn’t show is that the tallest of the buildings would be ground+19 storeys. Also there will be no affordable housing on site, instead a deal will be done with the Council to pay for affordable housing elsewhere in the borough after Eden Walk’s development.
You can still see exhibition boards and comment on the proposals at www.edenwalkregeneration.com and I would encourage everyone to have their say. A planning application is expected later this year.
