Jon Tolley, the Lib Dem candidate in the Grove ward by-election on 16th July, held on to the seat with a greatly increased majority. The by-election was caused by the sad death of Cllr Chrissie Hitchcock.
We’re delighted to have Jon join the Liberal Democrats on Kingston Council. I believe he will be a great ward Councillor for the residents of Grove and across the borough. The massive swing, going from winning with just 18 votes at the by-election on 7th May this year, to nearly 900 majority is great news and sends a clear message to the Conservative administration that they are not happy with the decisions they are making.
