The revised planning application for the dairy crest site on Villiers Avenue/Lower Marsh Lane was deferred by the Councillors on the Development Control Committee.

Whilst it was recognised the application for predominately 3 and 4 bed houses was much more suited to this location, Councillors were concerned about the level of affordable housing to be provided on the site. Council policy asks for 50% of new developments to be “affordable” and this application fell well short of that figure. Officers will now work with the applicant and it will come back to another meeting in the new year.
